My blogs try to counter the misinformation that I see spreading around Facebook groups about Costa Rica as well as the internet, in general.

This is one of the big reasons I wrote my book, Moving to Costa Rica Simplified (grab your copy here).

Twenty years ago this week I took my first trip to Costa Rica. Over the next six years, I made nine more trips before moving here full time in 2012.

But moving here was really just the beginning of learning what life in Costa Rica is actually like.

Not the picture-perfect postcard version. The real one. The one you learn through everyday life. Through language, systems that don’t work the way you expect, building relationships, making mistakes, and slowly figuring out how to fit in.

Two decades later, I’m still learning.

The longer you live here, the more you realize how much you’re still figuring out.

That kind of perspective comes from both the years you spend living here and the effort you make to truly immerse yourself in the country you now call home.

And… the learning can start before you move to Costa Rica! Grab a copy of my book or reach out here for a personalized relocation counseling session and let’s talk about your plans to move, what life here is like, and what to expect along the way.
