My blogs try to counter the misinformation that I see spreading around Facebook groups about Costa Rica as well as the internet, in general.

This is one of the big reasons I wrote my book, Moving to Costa Rica Simplified (grab your copy here).

After my last post about that first trip to Costa Rica 20 years ago, I pulled up the online map I made with pins for everywhere I’ve lived and traveled since then.

Costa Rica has been home for 14 of those years, but there have been plenty of planes, road trips, and a fair number of “while we’re here we might as well…” detours along the way.

Looking at the map now is a little surreal. A lot of miles. A lot of life in between.

Some of these places I called home. Some were short stops along the way. But each one ended up being part of the story. And more than a few of them ended up in the four books I’ve written along the way.

It kind of feels like flipping through an old photo album. So many memories.

And I’m certain I’ve missed a few places along the way. Twenty years is a long time to keep track of every stop.

Sometimes it’s interesting to stop and see where the road has taken you.

Next week I’ll share another thought that came up while I was looking at that map. Stay tuned…
